Captain James Cook, the renowned British explorer, played a crucial role in the history of Hawaii. Cook’s first visit to the Hawaiian Islands was in January 1778, during his third voyage of exploration in the Pacific Ocean. His ships, the HMS Resolution and HMS Discovery, arrived on the island of Kauai, marking the beginning of a significant chapter in the history of Hawaii.
